Our faith is a gift from the God who loves us, and it animates all we do. Our faith is a daily response to God’s love for us that impels us to love God and neighbor and live in right relationship as well. It is evident not only in our prayer, liturgies, and sacraments, but also in the way that we treat each other.

At Saint Mark’s High School, we celebrate Masses each month of the school year, and students have the opportunity to participate in the Sacrament of Reconciliation during Advent and Lent. Students pray every day in each class, and their athletic teams and clubs support the spiritual growth of the students as well.

Students participate in class retreats each year that deal with essential themes: the Mass, our relationship with God and others, forgiveness, and the call to lifelong discipleship.

Christian Service

Christian service develops our students’ awareness of those in need in our society. It promotes in them the understanding that we are all called to build up the kingdom of God. Christian service reminds us of the words of Jesus from Matthew’s Gospel: “Whatever you did for the least of my brothers, you did for me.” (Matthew 25: 40)

Christian service also reinforces that we are in relationship with others. We are all part of the Body of Christ.

How many Christian service hours is a student expected to complete?

During each school year at Saint Mark’s, students are expected to complete fifteen hours of service. Before graduation, a student who has attended here for four year will have completed at least sixty hours of service.
